Urban Migrant Survey Vietnam 2012-2013

The study investigated the living conditions of rural and urban migrant households in Vietnam, including employment, living standards, health, education, and socioeconomic conditions. Results of the study became the basis for academic research and governmental evidence-based policy evaluation. Real-Time Analytics (RTA) conducted a 500-household sample survey in Ho Chi Minh City for the study.

RTA’s main tasks:

  • Developed tablet-based survey technology for data collection
  • Designed and tested questionnaire e-forms used on tablets
  • Recruited and conducted training for enumerators, team leaders, field supervisors
  • Implemented field data collection trips and monitored data collection quality with tablet survey technology
  • Provided data cleaning daily with real-time survey data
  • Added features to rtSurvey & Field Assistant to improve communication between base and field teams
  • Packaged cleaned data sets for further analyses
